Tank Girl

I, not so secretly, sometimes want to look like this.

I’ve been hired to paint a set for the Chicago Dramatists, so I’m busy busy doing massive Chinese watercolor type things. Finding spare time more and more difficult to come by.

Matisse and the DOME of DOOM

The past few days, I’ve been doing some pretty fun theater related art things. The pictures below are from last night — there was a massive party at the Art Institute and I was one of the performers hired to be Matisse-like. Unfortunately, by the time I thought to take pictures, we had already been working for about four hours so we are sweaty and a little smudged, and many of the performers had removed their makeup. Basically, we did a series of dance movements to represent different Matisse paintings. But at some point, we busted out crazy dance moves and got everyone moving, which was a heck of a lot of fun. But my body feels kind of destroyed from dancing for 4 hours.

Next Saturday, I’m a performer in theĀ DOME of DOOM at Collaboraction’s Carnivale, which means that I will be having gladatorial dance-offs with other performers. I haven’t yet decided on my fighter’s name… If you’re in Chicago, it should be an epic evening.

pollen attack

I have some kind of headcold or allergies that suck. Here’s a pretty drawing to fight the feeling that all I want to do is sleep.

It’s a Big Clock

I was feeling all Alice and Wonderland in a Big Clock this evening. In the first round of this drawing, I have all these seals floating around her head barking “BRAP!” I wonder why they didn’t make the final cut…

I am being attacked by spambots. SOS. Seriously, it’s annoying.

Working on April Fools is no joke

Top Ten Worst Artworks of All Time

Gotta love my job.

I’m working on redesigning this behemoth of a website to put more of an emphasis on the gallery and the like with the intention of Being More Serious about Being An Artist. Blagh blagh.

Page one of four of endless airport drawing from this. Which is fun because of the amount of characters you encounter. Not fun because I am cursed with delays. Fun again as a way to strike up conversations with random travelers.

painting with acrylic

In Philly today, leaving for NY tonight, then Boston tomorrow. Did a lot of sketches at the airport, as well as some painting for fun and relaxation.
